About the Role
Fasten your helmet and climb on board if you’re ready to be our next Android Engineer. In this role, you will be an integral player in the Mapan Mobile team based in Jakarta, Indonesia - a team whose efforts are especially catered to aid lower-income users attain additional income through our platform. In collaboration with UX and backend teams, you'll get to build a large-scale, high-performing, fault-tolerant Android app for Gojek, providing simple, easy to use services for our users. With knowledge of the general mobile landscape, current user preferences and trends, and emerging technologies in the mobile engineering field, you'll employ your technical expertise and clean coding skills to deliver tangible solutions that'll bring a positive socioeconomic impact to all who use our app.
About the Team
Our Mapan Mobile team is a small family of 5 based in Jakarta, Indonesia. We run the biggest Arisan app in Indonesia. Our efforts are specifically catered to aid lower-income users attain additional income through utilizing our platform and services (most of whom are mothers!). The COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly made it more difficult for us to maintain our goal, but we leaning on our technological expertise, we've found a way to make it work despite the turmoil.
We are a tight-knit group who are bonded by living on the edge of technology🙌. For real - our weekly conversations range from the Google I/O to how to implement it on the development phase up to CI/CD. Additionally, while we are nerds at heart, our team loves bonding over good books, movies, and home-based activities (like YouTube workouts and baking recipes) since we have been working from home for a while now.
Gojek is a Super App. It is one app for ordering food, commuting, digital payments, shopping, hyper-local delivery, and a dozen other products. We are Indonesia’s first decacorn. We are also the only Southeast Asian startup to be part of Fortune's list of 'Companies That Changed The World.'

Gojek contributed IDR 249 T to the Indonesian economy (equivalent to 2% of Indonesia's GDP in 2020). As of Q1 2021, the Gojek App witnessed over 190mn downloads by customers. The platform has over 2mn Driver Partners & ~900000 Merchant Partners across SEA.
