About the Role
At Gojek, engineering is central to everything we do: bringing our ideas to life and into the lives of our users. As our Cloud Platform Engineer, you’ll be an integral player in the GoPay System team based in Jakarta. You’ll take the wheel in building, operating, and maintaining our various infrastructure & engineering platforms - including our App Configuration, CI/CD, and Service Discovery platforms - empowering our engineering team with scale and extensibility in mind. You’ll get your hands dirty in building internal systems used by GoPay product engineers, assisting them in delivering products that are able to withstand massive scaling in a consistent and reliable manner.
What You Will DoDesign, develop, implement, and operate infrastructure and engineering platforms (Examples of engineering platforms: app configuration, CI/CD, logging, monitoring, container orchestration (kubernetes), service discovery, cloud governance tooling, developer portal)Build internal systems used by GoPay product engineers around the worldMitigate reliability failures and production issues in our systemsPair with peers and team members on functional and nonfunctional requirements, which includes implementing infrastructure as code to automate database provisioning, maintaining uptime of Kubernetes clusters and service mesh infrastructure, or building intelligent container deployment platform as a service
What You Will NeedA Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, with related technical field or equivalent practical experienceExperience in computer science, data structures, algorithms, software design, cloud computing and Linux environmentsExperience in Software Development or System Administration, and coding in a general purpose programming language (e.g. Go, Python, Java, Ruby)

Our GoPay team consists of 40+ zealous folk based in Jakarta. As Nasi Goreng is to the people of Indonesia, we are to Gojek: providing the nourishment to sustain our business from the inside out. We run and oversee one of Southeast Asia's largest e-money wallet platforms and Indonesia's leading digital payments provider.
Our service is now accepted at over 300,000 online and offline merchants in Indonesia alone, with our ecosystem processing US$6.3 billion of annualized Gross Transaction Value in 2018. But, the growth of Payments does not stop here. We are hungry for more. We intend to become the largest payment and financial services group in Southeast Asia. It's our job to ensure that this number grows, and more importantly, that anyone utilizing our platform is given the most seamless payment experience possible. How does one achieve this, you may ask? By collaborating diligently with our users to understand the daily obstacles they face in the payment arena, then crafting our products and services to aid these issues.
