As the Engineering Manager for GoMerchants Payments, you will be handed the reins in delivering values for the customers along with deep technical expertise. Along with technical leads, you will be in charge of prioritizing and driving change to improve processes in engineering team. What You Will DoPerform system designs within the scope of the team to fulfill both functional and non-functional requirementsBring predictability & visibility of the team’s delivery to all relevant stakeholders. This includes making complex technological context more accessible to improve the quality of recommendation makingMonitor and adjusts team pace to instill urgency for success but protect the team from burnoutParticipate in cross-team delivery collaboration and ensure learnings from the team is available for everyoneManage a team of engineers and provide leadership to meet the business goals, not limiting to conduct performance reviews, career management, and team development planParticipate in the recruitment process and works with relevant stakeholders on staffing plans for the team
What You Will NeedShould have at least 8 years of experience in developing, testing and deploying large scale applications in any language or stack (preferably related to payment)Possess a deep understanding of system architecture and experience of making decision on itExperience managing, mentoring, and encouraging a team of direct reports with at least 1 year of leadership experiencePassionate to work in a highly distributed team environmentExcellent organizational and time-management skillsPossess excellent written & verbal communication skills focused on improving collaboration, knowledge, and information exchange across all stakeholders
About the Team
Our GoMerchant squad currently consists of passionate engineers based in Jakarta, Singapore, and Gurgaon who run Southeast Asia’s leading selling platform for online and onsite merchants. We oversee all things related to empowering business owners and work to create payment gateway solution. It’s our job to ensure that our merchants received payment seamlessly using 10+ payment channel ranging from card acceptance to convenience stores. The big question that we’re always trying to solve is: How to create more smooth and safe digital payment experience to our merchants?
While our team is based all over the region, we are a tight-knit group who are bonded by two things: good technology and good bread 🙌. For real - our weekly conversations range from the latest breakthroughs in mobile technology to the best sourdough bread recipes out there (WFH has indeed made us into make-believe bread connoisseurs).
